Jennifer Lopez’s engagement ring
Fancy coloured diamonds occur naturally all over the world, but green is amongst the rarest of colours. It forms when the diamond is exposed underground to radiation, with yellow tones occuring due to a particular formation of nitrogen atoms in and around the diamonds.

If you love Lopez’s ring design but are looking for a more afforable option, consider swapping the ultra rare green diamond for a green sapphire or emerald. All of the designs below can be customised to feature a different centre stone and, when set with a 1ct emerald of green sapphire, begin at around £4,000 or $5,800.
Throwing it back in 2002, Ben proposed to Jen at his mother’s house in Boston. Covering the house with a quilt of rose petals, Jen was quoted in an interview with Diane Sawyer as describing the event as “So many candles, and vases, bouquets. And my song ‘Glad’ was playing … I walked in and I was just, like, overwhelmed. I wasn’t expecting it, and I was just like, ‘Oh my God.’”

While we wait on Bennifer to announce their engagement once again, we take a look at Jen’s previous bachelors and the fabulous engagement rings she received. Most recently, Jen was engaged to Alex Rodriquez. Featuring an incredible 20ct emerald cut diamond ring set within platinum, we speculate that the stone is of the highest quality, with a colour grade of D colourless and a clarity grade of internally flawless. Based on this assumption, we estimate the value of Lopez’s ring to be around £3.8M ($5M USD).
Known for their subtle elegance, emerald-cuts are the preferred shape among celebrities for large engagement rings. Wearers are drawn to the sleek architectural beauty of the shape, known for its seamless fusion of light and dark planes called the “hall of mirrors”.

Jen’s engagement ring from Alex is very similar in design to our Utopia, an emerald cut diamond engagement ring within our collection. Above, we added a larger diamond to resemble Jen’s incredible diamond. However, we can create this design with any diamond size. Below, you can see what the 1ct version of the Utopia looks like, along with a few others from our collection of a similar style!

Lastly, we take a closer look at Jen’s spectacular blue diamond engagement ring given to her by her second husband, Marc Anthony. Costing around £4.5 million, this extremely rare 8.5ct light blue diamond is as special as Jlo herself. The blue diamond is a sleek radiant cut, set upon a platinum band with trapezoid accent diamonds. Jen and Marc were married for over 10 years, so we think the blue diamond brought them plenty of luck!

While Jlo’s blue diamond is extraordinary, we have a selection of engagement rings that are quite similar in design and feel to the cushion cut sparkler. Take a look at our Utopia engagement ring, set with a 1ct princess cut blue sapphire. Sapphires are a wonderful gemstone, with incredible durability and fire. This blue sapphire engagement ring would cost around £3,000.
