Share a quiet moment in Midtown’s most beloved “pocket park”
If you’ve already seen the sights in the much larger Bryant Park or Central Park, head east to take in this secret oasis tucked away on East 51st St.
One of the smallest parks in the city, Greenacre Park is the definition of a hidden gem. Its shady canopy of trees covers a small café and is backdropped by a stunning 25ft waterfall and miniature creek that flows across the length of the park.
Get lost in the stacks of The Morgan Museum & Library
An afternoon at The Morgan Library Museum is like spending a day inside a jewel box. This museum and research library is made of several historical buildings and features a Renaissance-inspired library with intricate shelves and murals housing a huge collection of rare manuscripts.
Learn about the history of NYC, see exhibits about music, poetry, and literature, or simply take in the stunning golden rooms of this lesser-known landmark.

Dinner at the Grand Central Oyster Bar
While this iconic bar might not be considered “off the beaten path”, we can vouch that this is one of those popular spots that actually lives up to the hype. The Grand Central Oyster Bar has been a staple of NYC culture since 1913.
Housed under twinkling vaulted tiled ceilings, enjoy a romantic martini and half a dozen fresh oysters, followed by sharing a few sweet nothings in the “whispering gallery” found in the restaurant’s entrance.
A nightcap at Pebble Bar
Most people visit the top of the Rock, but we suggest staying ground-level and getting a drink at the swishy and historic Pebble Bar. This unique brownstone attached to Rockefeller Center was home to a wateringhole favored by celebs, comics, and creatives from 1892 until it closed in 2000.
Now refurbished in a sultry Art Deco meets 60s style, Pebble Bar is a four-storey cocktail club that makes a perfect nightcap, no matter what drink you order.
